Hi everyone, I’ve been MIA, super busy with life, but I know that’s no excuse because so is everyone around me. I’ve been putting off posting because I’m in a rut. I’m having writer’s block for some reason… I know, … Continue reading →
Do you stay connected with your friends? After motherhood it’s typically not on your priority list, but let me tell you why it should be. As mothers (and women altogether) we go through very similar paths in … Continue reading →
Breastfeeding was always something that I held dear to my heart. It was something that I wanted to do with my son, but I was so inexperienced and gave up on it sooner than I should have. When my daughter … Continue reading →
So since I had my daughter I haven’t been attending church due to our breastfeeding schedule. I’m still trying to figure out how to slowly get her to drink from the bottle, but need to pump enough milk to even begin that. That’s a whole other blog post in itself lol. Anyway, I downloaded this app on my phone called “She Reads Truth”. This app is mostly an interactive devotional app for women. It also includes the full bible for easy access. I started doing a devotional from the app because I was beginning to feel like I was missing out since I don’t attend church on Sundays. I felt a little left out and I still think it’s too soon for me to go with my daughter and leave her at their daycare. Now don’t get me wrong, their daycare staff is amazing, but I just don’t feel ready yet.
So back to my devotional… I contacted a friend of mine, who is also a believer, and told her about this awesome app that I found. She went ahead and downloaded it and I asked her to start a devotional from the app with me. We would read it and work on it during the day and interact via Messenger before we went to bed. We started it on Sunday night and I have to tell you the Holy Spirit was definitely there. I’m so grateful to have such a willing friend. Lord knows I needed the devotional time so He made all of this possible. The study we are doing is on Psalms. It reminded me to be thankful at all times for He is amazing and loving and deserves all of our praise and glory. So that is what we did on Sunday night. We praised Him and prayed for each other to be able to continue this devotional every night. I can’t stress enough the importance of having the support of sisters in Christ that stand on the same rock as you do. It has been a blessing for me to be able to lean on her through hard times and to have her there as a prayer warrior for me. I just wanted to share that with you all. So how often do you reach out to friends that have the same beliefs as you? Is this something you find helpful? Thanks for stopping by!
Now that I’m home with child, I’m beginning to feel physically better, but emotionally my hormones are all over the place. These are the times when I rely on God. I rely on his promises and his love to get me through. Emotions can be deceitful and without faith there is no way for me to see past them. I’m very blessed to be able to be home with my kids, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming. Faith is how I cope and today this verse has been shedding light into my heart. Emotions will not get the best of me! Just wanted to share it with you. Now you tell me, what gets you through the tough days? How do you cope with the difficulties of life? Thanks for stopping by!
