My Current Routine For Dry Skin and Acne

January 24, 2018

So I suffer from very dry skin. Not only on my face, but all over. I’m definitely not one that has time to rub lotion all over my body every time after every shower. Seriously! The only parts of my body that are lucky enough to get any lotion on them are probably my hands and face. Other than that, nothing. I’ve been searching for a product to clear my pores because I’ve been breaking out a lot lately. I’m not sure if it’s due to stress or just the product that I’ve been caking on. I don’t wear too much make up and I’m pretty good with removing it every night, but I think I need to give my skin a break every now and then and just go bare skin so that my skin can breathe a little. I recently saw a blogger that I follow, post in her insta-stories and I could tell that she was not wearing make up, yet her skin was glowing! It looked so hydrated and I messaged her about it. I asked her what she used and she told me about this Charcoal Mask from the brand Origins that is used to clear pores. I was all over it.

I went online and decided to purchase it even though it was a little pricey. It’s the Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores by Origins. I’ve been using it for a few days now and after I wash it off I put on my Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask to Quench Skin’s Thirst and my skin feels so hydrated in the morning! I recommend it if you have very dry skin. I ordered it gift wrapped because, well, why not?! lol aaand I also received the smaller pink product samples (3) pictured below free! Here’s how I used it the first time I tried it.

First I removed all my make up, then I soaked a wash cloth with warm water and placed it all around my face to open up my pores.

I then took the mask and just spread it all over my face. The picture below was the first time I used it so I did not use enough, but the times after that I splattered a thick layer all over my face. I waited about 10 minutes for it dry and then I washed it off. The thicker the layer, the longer the wait time to dry.

And this is my skin after I washed it off and applied my Overnight Mask. The lighting in my bathroom is a lot more yellow than the one in my bedroom, which is where I took the picture below, but as you can see, I have mild acne all over my face. And that’s basically it. I will be doing an updated post later on to see if I’ve noticed any improvement. As of now, my skin feels very refreshed and hydrated in the mornings. What do you ladies use for dry skin? Have any of you tried these products?
