SuperMOM Spotlight – November 2017

November 1, 2017

Hello Hello! I’m very excited to present to you my new Monthly post series where I want to give the spotlight to momma’s (bloggers, instagrammers & more) that I admire and follow. Welcome to SuperMOM Spotlight! This month I want to talk about a beautiful lady-mom, Christie. She’s a mom, wife and she’s super real! That’s what made me start following her. She has that “I am me, take it or leave it” stand, lol in a good way, though, and I love that about her. Below is a little more about her. She has her personal blog www.simplybellavida.com – Go check out her blog and connect with her. She’s very interactive on her Instagram too, so if you comment, you’ll get a reply!

Who calls you mom and how old are they?

Keone “Keo” and he is 16 months old!

What do you do?

I am a full-time wife and mom and these are my greatest jobs! I am also going to school full-time for Professional Counseling with a side job working on Simply My Bella Vida where I hope to inspire women through my personal experiences.

What’s your blog’s URL?

What does a typical day look like for you?

I wakeup and spend time in my sons room playing and waking up with my hubby. Then I make all of us breakfast and help my husband get out of the door for work. Then I either do regular SAHM chores, go on play-dates, run errands, or go out with my son. I squeeze in school and work during nap time or bedtime because I like to be present and available when my son is awake.

Any advice on how to “juggle it all”?

Buy a planner or calendar to help you keep everything organized. Some people can on their phones but I am a pen and paper kind of girl 🙂 Also, if you are having a hard time juggling it all, consider dropping one or two things on your list.

When was the first time you really felt like a mother?

When I was alone without any help from my family or my husband and I had to do and figure everything out on my own without any help.

What’s the hardest thing about being a mom?

Getting sick but not getting any sick time or sick days. Moms don’t get breaks lol!

What’s the most rewarding thing about being a mom?

Everything! Watching them grow, learn, socialize, watching and experiencing all of the firsts… the list is endless!

What’s the funniest/most shocking thing that has happened to you since you’ve become a mom?

My son is a little over one so most of my funny or shocking moments includes bodily fluids haha! I’ll spare you!

What has been your best baby product purchase so far and why?

Seventh Generation baby wipes. My son has super sensitive skin and couldn’t tolerate any wipes other than these wipes. (I also second aquaphor healing ointment!)

What’s something new you have learned about yourself after becoming a mother?

That I am stronger than I thought I was, and I can push through and not quit when things get hard.

What do you do to unwind/relax when you have some rare time to yourself?

Watch Friends! It’s my favorite show and it’s only 30 minutes long so it’s short enough to watch and not feel guilty about not spending my time wisely.

What is your favorite outing, to date, with your little ones?

Going to the zoo! My son loves the animals and I love to see his face light up when he sees them.

What’s your favorite restaurant that you frequent with your family and in what city? Why do you dine out there?

We looovvee Crackers and Company. It is a cute brunch place with super fast service and good homemade meals! We can’t ever go to IHOP or Cracker Barrell because Crackers and Company has shown us what a real breakfast out tastes like!

Pretend your best friend is pregnant and about to have a baby. What’s the most important piece of advice you would share about “motherhood”?

Don’t compare yourself to other moms and trust your mom instinct. Even if you are a new mom, YOU carried that baby in your womb feeling every movement and kick. You have a special bond that might not make sense now, but it’s real and you have to trust your gut when it comes to your baby. Listen to advice but don’t be afraid to go against what your being told if your mom gut is telling you.
So there you have it ladies. I hope you all enjoyed getting to know Christie as much as I have. Thanks for stopping by!
Have a blessed day!
